They walked. They raced. Some even trotted. That was the scene at Nānākuli High and Intermediate School on November 27 as students and others took to the track for the school’s annual Health and Wellness Turkey Trot.

PVT Land Company was proud to sponsor the event, which is in its eighth year. The Turkey Trot raised funds to provide about 280 turkeys to families on the Wai‘anae Coast.

In addition to PVT, corporate sponsors included Hawaiian Electric, Coca-Cola Bottling Company, AlohaCare, Alu Like, and USA Track & Field-Hawaii. Also supporting the event were the U.S. Army’s 225th Brigade Support Battalion, UH Healthy Children’s Living Project, and the John A. Burns School of Medicine Native Hawaiian Health Program.

This year’s “trot” included runners from NHIS, Nanaikapono Elementary, Nānākuli Elementary, Ka Waihona o ka Naʻauao Charter School, and Kamehameha Schools Learning Center pre-school. Also joining were members of the Alu Like Kupuna Program.

Congratulations to all who supported this important community event.
