Protecting the Environment
PVT is committed to a culture where employees understand and respect the value of protecting the environment.
Complying with government regulations and permit requirements, and constantly striving to improve operations, policies and procedures are verifiable evidence of our commitment.
PVT uses a high capacity storm water management system—rated to withstand a 100-year storm—along with a network of paved roads with drainage ports and retention basins to prevent erosion during periods of heavy rainfall.
Because PVT accepts only C&D waste, air quality has never been an issue. Multiple studies have shown air quality to be comparable and in some cases superior to that of other locales on Oahu and to pose no health concern.
The roof over the facility’s parking area is covered with photovoltaic panels that supply power to PVT offices. Solar panels also power water and air quality monitoring stations.
